Annual Leadership Awards

Governor Larry Hogan declared May 20, 2019 as Maryland Green Registry Day to mark the 10th Anniversary of the program, which has grown over the past decade to more than 550 members reporting nearly $104 million in savings through smart, sustainable practices.  The anniversary was celebrated at an evening event held in partership with the National Association of Environmental Professionals at the Lord Baltimore Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland.

Maryland Department of the Environment Secretary Ben Grumbles presented the Maryland Green Registry Leadership Awards to five member organizations that were selected by a judging panel for their strong commitment to sustainable practices, measurable results, and continual improvement. The winners, listed below, represent a variety of facility types and sizes, but all have several key factors in common that contribute to their success: an organizationwide commitment to environmental performance, a green team that meets on a regular basis, annual environmental goals and measurement of results.

Three additional members, listed below, were named to the 2019 Leadership Circle, which recognizes former Leadership Award winners that have demonstrated a commitment to continual improvement by implementing significant new sustainable practices in the past year.

Congratulations to the 2019 Award Winners and to all Maryland Green Registry members for another year of impressive and inspiring annual results (view infographic).
