The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) gives notice of a public hearing and comment period concerning the redesignation request and maintenance plan for the Baltimore Nonattainment Area for the 2015 Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
The virtual public hearing will be held on July 17, 2026 at 3:00 pm.

The public hearing will be held as required by federal law (Clean Air Act at 42 U.S.C. 7410 (a) and 40 CFR 51.102). The proposed plan documents have been made available on the Maryland Department of the Environment's website here:

Copies of the document can be viewed at the offices of the Maryland Department of the Environment, Air and Radiation Management Administration, 1800 Washington Boulevard, Suite 730, Baltimore, Maryland.
Comments will be accepted between June 12, 2026 and July 17, 2026 at 5:00 P.M. and may also be submitted at the hearing. Comments may be sent to the Planning Program, Maryland Department of the Environment, Air and Radiation Management Administration, 1800 Washington Boulevard, Suite 730, Baltimore, MD, 21230 or emailed to [email protected]. After MDE considers the comments received, MDE will finalize and submit the plan to the United States Environmental Protection Agency for approval.
