 Air and Radiation Permits, Licenses and Approvals

​Chalk Point Power, LLC - Chalk Point Generating Station

​​​​​The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Air and Radiation Administration (ARA) received an application for a Title V -  Part 70 Operating Permit on November 27, 2019  (revised May 9, 2020) for Chalk Point Power, LLC's Chalk Point Generating Station located at 25100 Chalk Point Road, Aquasco, MD 20608.

The Department is now ready to issue the permit.  A community informational meeting has been scheduled so that citizens can discuss the application and the permit with the applicant and the Department.  The community informational meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 6:30 PM.

CSX Transportation - Curtis Bay Piers

​​​The Maryland Department of the Environment (“MDE”) received a Permit to Construct application from CSX Transportation (“CSX”) on May 22, 2022, (with revisions received July 6, July 29, August 12, and August 25, 2022) for the installation of a replacement conveyor and additional wet suppression and tunnel modifications in the north area of its Curtis Bay Piers facility, located at 1910 Benhill Avenue, Curtis Bay, Maryland 21226.MDE has reviewed the application and has made a determination that the proposed facility is expected to comply with all applicable state and federal air quality regulatory requirements. On September 7, 2022, MDE issued a permit to CSX. More information​
