The Maryland Lead Poisoning Prevention Commission was established under state law in 1994 to evaluate and strengthen efforts to protect children and families from lead exposure. The Commission reviews the effectiveness of Maryland’s Lead Poisoning Prevention Program and explores issues such as liability, insurance availability, and best practices in lead risk reduction.
The Commission is made up of 19 members serving four-year terms. Seventeen members, including the Chair, are appointed by the Governor. One member is appointed by the President of the Maryland Senate and one by the Speaker of the House. You can watch past meetings on

Schedule:
Meetings are typically held on the first Thursday of each month from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. There are no meetings in July, August, or December unless otherwise noted.
Format:
Most meetings are offered in a hybrid format — attend in person, by phone, or online. Any changes to the format will be listed in the “Special Announcements” section.
