Education, Communication & Outreach Working Group

The Education, Communication and Outreach Working Group (ECO) handles the Maryland Commission on Climate Change's public relations; the members work to educate Marylanders on climate change and to inform them about what the Commission is doing to address climate change's impacts on our state.  ECO produces a series of webinars called "Commission Talk" that includes an annual end-of-year discussion with the Maryland Commission on Climate Change (MCCC) leaders about MCCC's recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly, which are published in an annual report each November 15.

Meetings

ECO meetings are held online every other month and are open to all Marylanders; a portion of each meeting is set aside for public comment.

On the surface, climate change communication is about educating, informing, warning, persuading, mobilizing, and solving this critical problem. At a deeper level, climate change communication is shaped by our different experiences, mental and cultural models, and underlying values and worldviews.
