Whether your organization is just getting started or is looking to push its sustainability program to the next level, join the nearly 600 businesses and organizations on the Maryland Green Registry committed to reducing their environmental impacts through cost-saving sustainable practices. 

Membership is free.  Join now in three easy steps:​

1)  Download the application (a Word document) by clicking on Join Here below.  

2)  Complete the form by sharing at least five environmental best practices and one result.  It should take only 30 minutes to complete!

 3) Email the completed form to green.registry@maryland.gov.

Membership Requirements


  1. Implement and share information on at least five environmental practices.
  2. Provide at least one quantitative result from these practices. (Example: kilowatt hours of electricity conserved.)
  3. Strive to continually improve your environmental performance.
  4. Update your membership profile at least every three years.

After you submit a completed application, you’ll receive notification that you've met the Maryland Green Registry requirements and your profile will be posted (after your approval) to the website. ​

Note: Marinas, boatyards, yacht clubs, and other marine facilities are encouraged to apply first to the Maryland Clean Marina Certification Program​ before joining the Maryland Green Registry.

The Clean Marina program, managed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, provides specialized support and recognition to marinas on meeting legal environmental requirements as well as the adoption of voluntary pollution prevention practices.  Visit the list of certified marinas to learn more about the practices they have in place.
