• MDE issued a public notice on February 1, 2026 request​ing nontidal wetland mitigation cost estimates.​

• ​The Maryland Wetland Assessment Methodology (MDWAM) is being tested for nontidal wetland impacts and mitigation. More information is available on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mitigation website.

• <CLOSED> MDE and Chesapeake Bay Trust grant program​ to provide funds for nontidal wetland restoration, creation, and enhancement projects throughout Maryland. ​​

• A stream and floodplain restoration project proposed to satisfy a compensatory mitigation requirement is subject to the requirements of the Whole Watershed Act. • Acre Investment Management, LLC and Addendum #1 Carpenter Farms Mitigation Bank, Queen Anne's County- Public comment period ended July 15, 2024.

• Beaver Dam Creek Stream and Wetland Mitigation Bank, Frederick County- Public comment period ended April 17, 2024. 

• DRG/WSSI Umbrella Mitigation Banking Instrument and Addendum #1 Lake Elkhorn Stream and Wetland Mitigation Bank, Howard County- Public comment period ended February 23, 2022. Withdrawn May 22, 2024.​

• Linkwood Wetland Mitig​ation Bank​, Dorchester County- Public comment period ended May 2, 2024.

• Mill Swamp Stream and Wetland Mitigation Bank​, Charles County-  Public comment period extended to May 5, 2025.
