The 2005 - 2008 Governor's Advisory Committee on the Management and Protection of the State's Water Resources began meeting in 2005 to study the complex issues related to managing Maryland's water supplies. The Committee produced a final report on July 1,2008.

The work of this committee was completed when its final report, Water for Maryland's Future: What We Must Do Today(Volume 1 & Volume 2), was released on July 1, 2008. It's work having been completed, the committee was dissolved.
