IMPORTANT: Nonpublic School Building Survey (2020-2021 School Year) -- Maryland law (Chapter 386, 2017) & Preventing Potential Water Quality ProblemsDate: December 18, 2020
Dear School Representative:
The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Water Supply Program is conducting a short (11 question) electronic survey to update Maryland school information and to identify the numbers of school buildings located at each school. The result of the survey will help us facilitate measures that can improve the quality of the drinking water via appropriate flushing recommendations in school buildings with limited water use during the 2020-2021 school year, and to help us better assist schools subject to lead testing under Maryland’s House Bill 270 (i.e. schools serving children in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 that receive drinking water from a public utility) in their lead testing efforts.

Please note that the above link is specific for nonpublic schools.
We are requesting that you complete this brief survey by December 31, 2020 11:59PM EST.
Please note that if the school has multiple locations/campuses, the survey must be filled out for each school location/campus.
It is important to note that once started the survey cannot be saved so it must be completed and submitted in one sitting. A PDF of the survey is attached for your reference.
Thank you for your assistance. Please feel free to contact the Water Supply Program at 410-537-3729 or via email at reporting.leadschoolwater@maryland.gov if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Christina
