Cybersecurity Training for Water System Operators

Effective July 1, 2025, all water and wasterwater operators in Maryland must complete the EPA's Cybersecurity Training for Water and Wastewater Systems as part of their certification renewal process. This training is free, available online, and designed to help users understand and implement critical cybersecurity measures to safeguard water systems against evolving threats.

Important Notice for License Renewal:

To receive credit for this training and ensure no gaps in your license renewal, all quizzes must be submitted to WaterCyberTA@epa.gov. Please note that all training must be completed in a timely manner to allow sufficient time for processing your quiz results. It is the responsibility of each operator to allocate time to complete this requirement before the renewal application deadline. The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) will not make any exceptions to this rule.
