In order to measure our efforts toward accomplishing our goal of restoring 60,000 acres of wetlands in Maryland, we need to keep track of the restoration projects that have been completed. This way, we will know each year how far we've come.
There are other reasons that reporting is important as well! With limited resources in the State, agencies and nonprofit organizations need to concentrate their efforts where they are most needed. Accurate knowledge of what restoration projects have been completed and where, can help wetlands professionals to decide where future restoration efforts are most needed.
Wait! There's more! We also need you to report your restoration project so that others can learn from you. The more we know about what partnerships work best, and what types of restorations produce the best results, the better our future restoration projects will be!
