Each year, approximately 40 million Christmas trees are sold in the United States. Do your part for Maryland's environment by recycling your Christmas tree this year. Recycled Christmas trees can be used for mulch, soil erosion barriers and many other environmentally-friendly uses. Click on the links below to find out how your county recycles Christmas trees.

Worcester
Worcester County will be accepting trees, for free, at the Central Landfill
and the transfer stations at Berlin, Snow Hill, and Pocomoke, from residents with a county
homeowners permit from December 26, 2024, to January 31, 2025. Hours will be Monday
through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Commercial haulers, businesses, and organizations who
sold Christmas trees will not be allowed to dump their trees at any of the transfer stations,
but will be accepted at Central Landfill, where applicable tipping fees will be assessed.
