A virtual public hearing for only the proposed work listed below is being held to gather information and hear testimony to assist the Department in making a determination regarding an application for a wetlands license. This basis for the hearing being held is due to requirements for tidal wetlands licenses. Statements for or against this application may be presented orally through the virtual platform during the hearing or in writing to the Maryland Department of the Environment, Tidal Wetlands Division, 1800 Washington Blvd., Baltimore Maryland, 21230 by email at matthew.wallach@maryland.gov, or Telephone No. (410) 207-0893. Written public testimony and information for or against this project will be accepted until June 30, 2020 following the hearing date. The virtual public hearing is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on June 25, 2020. In order to view or participate in the virtual hearing, a participant must register at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/1186488902549171723 and directions will be electronically forwarded to the email provided. If internet service is not available, the participant may call 1 866 952 8437 and then enter access code 622-863-138 to hear the public hearing. Phone only participants will not have the ability to provide testimony during the hearing, however, statements may be provided to Matthew Wallach to be read during the hearing which may not be longer than three minutes in length. Any statements to be read must be provided to Matthew Wallach by June 21, 2020. Information and questions can be provided orally by participants during the hearing through the virtual platform. Phone participants may provide questions about the project by June 21, 2020 to Matthew Wallach to be answered during the hearing. CAPE SAINT CLAIRE IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION, 1223 River Bay Rd., Annapolis, MD 21409 has applied to construct a 140-foot long by 40-foot wide headland breakwater within a maximum of 210 feet channelward of the mean high water line and a 50-foot long by 24-foot wide groin within a maximum of 50 feet channeward of the mean high water line in the tidal waters of the Magothy River directly Northwest of where the Little Magothy River meets the Magothy River. The purpose of this project is to protect the shoreline from erosion and provide resiliency for storm surges and climate change.
