June 13, 2013: 12 noon – 8 p.m.: Sustainable Maryland Certified’s Idea Fair. This event, to be held at the Stamp Student Union at the University of Maryland, College Park, will bring together local governments, businesses, non-profits, and the general public to discuss: What is Sustainability and how can we work together to achieve our sustainability goals? Learn from local Municipalities who have excelled in their sustainability efforts and Visit various demonstration tables to learn how you can promote sustainability throughout your community by adopting programs in Water, Energy, Waste, Procurement, Food, and Transportation. Chesapeake Bay Seed Capital Fund

Steam Restoration Challenge
This competitive grant program is open to local governments and non-government organizations to establish 1,000 acres of stream-side forests by 2015. Urban communities without stream buffer opportunities may propose urban greening projects, For information, click here.
Maryland Green Registry Wins National Award
The Maryland Green Registry was awarded the Most Valuable Pollution Prevention (MVP2) by the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable. The award recognizes outstanding and innovative pollution prevention projects and programs that demonstrate measurable results and optimization of available project resources. See article.
