September 25-27, 2017: WASTECON at the Baltimore Convention Center.  Enter the Look for the Leak contest to be eligible for a free registration.

Discounts on stormwater protection measures: The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy has a grant to install best management practices (BMPs) including rain barrels, bayscapes, rain gardens, and microbioretention gardens at a 50 -80% discount at business properties in Bird River, Middle River, Tidal Gunpowder, watersheds. Learn more here. Projects must be installed by December 15, 2017.

Webinars on Potomac Edison's  Energy Efficiency Programs, Every Thursday, 1-2 pm:. Information and application assistance for businesses located in Allegany, Washington, Frederick and Garrett Counties.  Details here.

Technical Assistance News:

Stay Tuned!  MDE received a grant from EPA in August 2016  to 1) offer the "Greening Your Business" program to Maryland Green Registry members, 2) provide waste reduction assistance to food processors, 3) place a pollution prevention engineering intern with a manufacturer in the summer of 2017, and 4) support the Maryland Green Registry.

Regional Manufacturing Institute Energy Efficiency Program: Maryland manufacturers in the BGE Service area may be eligible to participate in a program targeting energy efficiency opportunities. New groups are forming now. Click here for more information.

Chesapeake Bay Seed Capital Fund

This fund will invest $250,000 annually over a three-year period in Maryland-based startup companies with innovative technologies that may help improve air and water quality in the Chesapeake Bay area. For more information, go to

Maryland Green Registry Wins National Award

The Maryland Green Registry was awarded the Most Valuable Pollution Prevention (MVP2) by the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable.  The award recognizes outstanding and innovative pollution prevention projects and programs that demonstrate measurable results and optimization of available project resources.  See article.​​
