17th Annual Maryland Groundwater Symposium
MDE’s Water Supply Program hosted the 17th annual Maryland Groundwater Symposium on September 25, 2008. Approximately 400 public and private sector professionals from Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and the District of Columbia attended the symposium, held at Martin’s West in Baltimore. Speakers from federal, state, and local government, as well as private consulting firms, presented information on a wide range of topics including the implementation of new groundwater rules, studies of ground water and surface water interaction, the policy and technology of onsite disposal systems, advances in water quality data exchange, and emerging contaminants.
The annual groundwater symposium provides an opportunity for ground water scientists, regulators, managers, and other professionals from the public and private sectors to exchange information and learn about new technologies and upcoming regulations that may impact their work.
