ANNAPOLIS, MD (October 17, 2002) – Governor Parris N. Glendening will recognize the 30th anniversary of the federal Clean Water Act at the River Farm, Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, 6020 Pindell Road in Lothian, Friday, October 18, 2002 at 10:30 a.m.
The Governor will issue a Proclamation designating Clean Water Day in Maryland and will discuss Maryland’s successes and accomplishments in improving water quality, especially on the Patuxent River where significant improvements have been achieved, as well as noting where additional attention is still needed.
Governor Glendening will be joined by Maryland Secretary of the Environment Richard F. Pecora, Department of Natural Resources Secretary J. Charles Fox and Anne Arundel County Executive Janet Owens.

From ANNAPOLIS: Rt. 50 West to Rt. 301 South to MD 4 East. Follow directions below.
From BALTIMORE: 695 to I-97 South. To 3 South -- becomes 301 South at Rte 50. Stay on 301 South to MD 4 East. Follow directions below.
From WASHINGTON DC: Take MD 4 EAST toward Prince Frederick. Approximately 3 miles past the intersection with MD 301, take right at PLUMMER LANE exit. Continue on PLUMMER LANE until next four-way intersection (about ½ mile). Continue STRAIGHT through the intersection onto PINDELL ROAD (ignore the signs that say to turn right for the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary). Travel approx. 1.5 miles -- there will be a group of mailboxes on the right -- make a SHARP RIGHT (practically a 180) and follow road through gate approx 1.3 miles to farm house. Event will be to the right at the water's edge.
