MDE Secretary Shari T. Wilson will announce the winners of the 2010 Maryland Green Registry Leadership Awards at the Green Building Institute’s monthly networking meeting. The Leadership Awards will recognize five organizations that have shown a strong commitment to implementing sustainable practices, demonstrating measurable results, and continually improving environmental performance.

Governor O’Malley launched the Maryland Green Registry to promote and recognize sustainable “greening” efforts by organizations of all types and sizes within the state. Businesses, churches, schools, government agencies, and other organizations are invited to join the program and share the steps they’ve taken to reduce their environmental footprint.
