Dedication ceremony for the upgrade of the Brunswick Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Frederick County, Maryland. Funded with over $12 million from the Bay restoration, the upgrade to Enhanced Nutrient Reduction (ENR) will reduce the Brunswick WWTP’s yearly load of nitrogen by 83% and the yearly load of phosphorous by 85%. These improvements will decrease the amount of nutrients discharged into the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay and help Maryland meet our goals under the Chesapeake Bay Agreement.
