In January 2020, the Dam Safety Division initiated a strategic reorganization to improve customer service, optimize staff workloads and skillsets, and enhance the safety of dams in Maryland. We will also develop new or improved materials for dam owners, engineers, and emergency response personnel. The reorganization creates the Dam Safety Inspection and Compliance Division and the Dam Safety Permits Division. These divisions will work hand-in-hand to advance the objectives of the Department and the Stormwater, Dam Safety, and Flood Management Program, including those listed above.
