BALTIMORE, MD (March 9, 2006) -- The Air Quality Control Advisory Council will review the latest version of the Clean Power Rule, reconsider comments pertaining to the regulations raised from council members and stakeholders during their February meeting and consider the rule’s adoption.

The public meeting will be held on Monday, March 13, 8:30 a.m. at Maryland Department of the Environment headquarters (1800 Washington Boulevard, Baltimore) in the lobby-level Terra Conference Room.

The Air Quality Control Advisory Council (AQCAC), established in 1967, advises MDE by recommending adoption, rejection or modification of draft regulations or other matters brought before it. The council consists of up to 15 members appointed by the secretary of the department. As designated by the State Environment Article 2-201, members are from industry, labor, professional associations, local and regional government organizations, academia, farming, the medical community and the general public. AQCAC meets on an average of four to eight times per year at MDE’s headquarters in Baltimore.
