Applying for MDE Positions

Skilled and Professional Service

Applications for skilled and professional service positions will only be accepted for those currently under active recruitment. Applicants must meet the MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS stated on the job announcement, as well as any SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS (if included in the respective job announcment). Applicants must submit a completed Maryland State Employment Application Form (MS-100) by the referenced closing date. Resumes may only be used as a supplement to the MS-100 Form. They may not be used in lieu of the MS-100 Form.

The following pages contain both current and “open and continuous” job announcements. “Open and continuous” job announcements are recruitments without a closing date and applications are always accepted.

Applicants may apply for these positions either by mailing it to the address referenced on the job announcement. A separate MS-100 Form is required for each job announcement. In either case, applicants must sign the MS-100 Form for further consideration in the recruitment process.

Executive, Management and Special Appointment Service

Positions in these service categories are “at-will” and serve at the pleasure of the Secretary of the Maryland Department of the Environment.

Applications for executive, management and special appointment service positions will only be accepted for those currently under active recruitment. Applicants must meet the MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS stated on the job announcement, as well as any SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS (if included in the respective job announcment).

Applicants may submit either 1) a completed Maryland State Employment Application Form (MS-100), or 2) a resume by the referenced closing date. Resumes may also be used as a supplement to the MS-100 Form.

All Service Positions

Verification of education credentials is required for further consideration. Contingent upon the preliminary approval of the MS-100 Form or resume, applicants will be required to provide copies of either a 1) high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED), or 2) college transcript. Education credentials received from colleges and universities outside of the United States must be evaluated by an approved education review service.
