Introduction

This site is an 8.2 acre nontidal forested wetland restoration and an 11.8 acre nontidal forested wetland enhancement located in the Transquaking River (02130308) watershed of Dorchester County. 


Construction

The Maryland Department of the Environment, in conjunction with Dorchester County Soil Conservation District and the landowner, restored this wetland through minor grading in August 2009 and planting in spring 2010. The site was previously in agriculture.  This site caugh​t fire a couple years after construction/planting. Subsequent site visits showed the site recovered well and the trees were regenerating.
