Dewatering for the Charles Station compressor station—CH2017G006/01

Update, 5/21/2018A public informational heaing has been scheduled for for Monday, June 11, 2018. 

Dominion Energy Cove Point LNG, LP has applied for a Permit to Appropriate and Use Waters of the State, CH2017G006/01.  The applicant seeks to appropriate and use an annual average of 176,000 gallons of groundwater per day (gpd) and an average of 230,000 gpd during the month of maximum use for lowering the groundwater level to facilitate construction of the Charles Station compressor station. The water is to be withdrawn from sumps in the semi-confined Upper Patapsco aquifer.  The project is located at 6855 Barrys Hill Road, approximately 0.5 mile east of the junction of Marshall Hall and Barrys Hill Roads, Bryans Road, Charles County, Maryland.
