Introduction

This project is a 14 acre (12 acre forested, 2 acre emergent) restored wetland located in the Choptank River - Lower Choptank River Area (02-13-04-03) watershed of Talbot County.    


Construction

In fall 1994/spring 1995, the Nontidal Wetlands and Waterways Division, in cooperation with Talbot Soil Conservation District and the property owner, restored this pasture land back to wetlands.

During construction

Status

Invasive plants were removed in the summer of 2000.  While there are some areas of open water and cattail, overall this site has established into a successful wetland system.  This site is on private property.
