This site is a 5.3 acre (5 acres forested, 0.3 acres scrub-shrub) wetland restoration located in the Coastal Area - Chincoteague Bay (02-13-01-06) watershed of Worcester County.

Construction

The Maryland Department of the Environment, the landowner, and the Worcester Soil Conservation District coordinated to convert this previously drained forest back to forested wetland in Spring 2002.  Wetland hydrology was easy to establish through plugging of ditches.

Status
