Plant a tree from the comfort of your desk

This afternoon, after sending out that last email and filing that expense report, why not help plant a tree in a Maryland State Park?

With the launch of Odwalla’s fourth annual Plant a Tree program, it’s as easy as the click of a mouse.

Odwalla, a California-based, fruit juice, smoothie, and food bar company, is donating $100,000 to plant trees in state parks in 15 states across the country. From now until August 31, you can visit the Plant a Tree website and choose the state in which you would like a tree to be planted. For each click, Odwalla will donate $1 for the purchase of a tree to a state park in your chosen state. No contribution is necessary.

As of mid-June, more than 3,700 trees are to be planted in Maryland as part of the program. The trees selected to be planted in the state parks are native to the regions and are planted in areas in need of reforestation.
You can plant one tree per email address. You can plant additional trees by visiting any participating State Park and using a code found inside each Park Visitor Welcome Kit. Each code is worth one tree.

A map on the Plant a Tree Program website gives state-by-state numbers on how many trees have been planted so far.

Since the launch of the program in 2008, Odwalla has planted more than $350,000 worth of trees in State Parks across the nation.
