Commuter Health Fair Helps Educate Workers

Maryland Department of the Environment will host a Commuter and Health Fair for employers and employees at the Montgomery Park Business Center in southwest Baltimore. The fair will be held on Wednesday, May 10, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The fair will inform employees about various commuter options available and encourage healthy lifestyle choices such as walking and cycling as daily activities. Featured will be:

• instructional sessions on safe bike commuting,
• good vehicle maintenance to conserve fuel and extend the life of a vehicle,
• panel discussions, and
• a free car care clinic where drivers can get a 22-point vehicle inspection to learn if their car is operating efficiently and safely.

Representatives will be on hand from RideShare, Flexcar, One Less Car and the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) with public transit information. Light Street Cycles will display some of this year’s hottest new bikes. Plus, there will be some healthy refreshments, giveaways, and door prizes.
