BALTIMORE, MD (January 4, 2007) – The Maryland Department of the Environment’s (MDE) Waste Management Administration issued the following enforcement actions between October 1 and November 30, 2007 with penalties more than $5,000:

Lead Cases

• Mildred Jones Spedden, Cambridge, Maryland

  16 affected properties – On October 12, 2007, MDE issued an Amended Administrative Complaint, Order and Penalty to Mildred Jones Spedden equaling $30,000 for properties that were out of compliance with risk reduction standards.

• John E. Hastings & Mamie M. Hastings, Delmar, MD

  1 affected property – On October 19, 2007, MDE issued an Administrative Complaint, Order and Penalty to John E. Hastings & Mamie M. Hastings equaling $22,000 for a property that was out of compliance with risk reduction standards.

• Nestletosh Property Services, LLC, Hagerstown, MD

  19 affected properties – On October 19, 2007 – MDE issued a Notice of Violation with Penalty to Nestletosh Property Services, LLC equaling $10,000 for properties that were out of compliance with risk reduction standards. Status – Nestletosh Property Services, LLC has 10 days to request a hearing on the Administrative Complaint and Order and 30 days to request a hearing on the Penalty.

  10 affected properties – On October 23, 2007, MDE issued an Administrative Complaint, Order and Penalty to Barry R. Glazer & Gina Gargeu equaling $40,000 for properties that were out of compliance with risk reduction standards.
