Maryland's Plug-in Electric Vehicle Buyer's Guide

Plug-in Electic Vehicles (PEV) are a category of cars that can run at least partially on battery power that is recharged from the electric grid. Below is a list of the two different types of PEVs- pure battery electrics (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) that are available.

Note: The State Excise Tax credit is subject to the availability of funds. It applies to new vehicles purchased after July 1, 2017, and is not applicable to vehicles with a purchase price in excess of $60,000. For more information, please visit the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration's web site.
